ST. LOUIS, MO
On March 11-17, 2007, we returned to St. Louis since our first visit in 2002. We performed 12 shows for over 2500 people total - mostly youth - at parishes, elementary schools, high schools, a regional youth rally, a young adult coffeehouse, and a St. Patrick’s Day Festival. We were also interviewed on Catholic Radio.
We feel very blessed and humbled to be used by Christ as His tools for evangelizing youth. We had many teens email us to inform us how God had changed them through our show on tour:
- Three teens at different schools and parishes – 2 girls and a guy – had previous suicide plans and decided not to go through with their suicides after seeing our show.
- Several teens shared that they were going through depression or dark times but were helped by our message.
- A teen girl reported, “I’m really struggling with whether I believe in God or not and your concert and you as individuals really make me want to try and grow closer to God.”
- Other teens resolved to be chaste or were given strength in their resolve to be chaste after seeing our show.
- One teen girl had been participating with her Catholic youth group but has been basically church-hopping, being misled to try one denomination after another the past two years. She announced at her youth group that after seeing The Beatitudes, she has decided to become Catholic. Our concert was her final confirmation to convert.
And last but not least, here is a touching note and poem from Alex Williams, a sophomore at that time from Bishop DuBourg High School in St. Louis, MO. She wanted us to share with you a poem she wrote after seeing one of our shows so that she can inspire people, epsecially teen girls, about the dignity of women:
"I'd like to say that you guys are awsome! I love the a capello (sp?) sorry, I can't really spell! lol! But I also wanted to say that the talk one of you gave, I can't remember who it was. But one thing he said realy stuck in my mind was that he said "Don't be toys" I loved that line so I quickly went through my purse, found a pen, & wrote it on my arm. I didn't have any paper! The very next day, I wrote a poem & used that line as my base:
Little boys can make such a fuss
But I ask you, don't use us
You may be little boys
But we are not your toys
Girls can take the abuse
But we still don't like the use
Girls shouldn't deal with little boys
Girls, don't be toys
Men are what we want you to be
It is what we need of thee
Men don't act like fools
Because women are not your tools
Women are what we are
Some men don't have to look very far
If you try, we will defend
We women are strong to the end
- by Alex Williams
Inspired by The Beatitudes"
On our tour in St. Louis in 2002, two girls immediately went home to dispose of their drugs. Every year, teens resolve to be chaste in their relationships after seeing our show during our Spring Break Tours.
ALL FOR CHRIST THROUGH MARY!
